In NSW primary schools, the study of a language is optional.
Language study allows students to develop communication skills, learn about languages as systems and explore the relationship between language and culture. Students engage with the linguistic and cultural diversity of societies and reflect on their understanding of social interactions.

We would like to acknowledge the Five Islands people, the traditional custodians of this land. We would like to show our respect to the Elders of the past, present and future and we extend that respect to all First Nations Australians of our country. Together we will keep the land safe and healthy to build a future of harmony and reconciliation.
