Good news though! After the Premier’s announcement recently, face-to-face learning under a phased approach will commence on Monday 18 October, 2021 with Kindergarten and Year 1 students only returning to school. All other grades will return to school the following week on Monday 25 October!
Until these return dates, students at Berkeley West Public School, will continue to learn from home.
Again, students will return to face to face learning with NSW Health-approved COVID-safe settings on school sites in the following order:
- from Monday 18 October- Kindergarten and Year 1
- from Monday 25 October- All other grades (Year 2- Year 6)
Until then, parents and carers in Greater Sydney and Wollongong must keep children – across primary and secondary school – at home unless they need to be at school (for example, you are an authorised worker and have to work with no one at home to supervise your children).
The school canteen will not be operating until Monday October 25 and there will only be minimal staff on site until then as teachers are also working from home to support their student’s learning and keep themselves safe.

Join us at 9.15am next Tuesday 12 October on Zoom for a parent information session regarding our school’s plans on students returning to school. We will also take any questions that you may wish to ask and answer them.
This Zoom is specifically for all our parents. We plan to record this session for anyone unable to join us live so they can watch it later. Parents will need to have Zoom installed on their device to watch the live presentation. Parents will have chat capability, but will have no cameras or microphones enabled.
